CONSTRUCTION LAW PARTNER – CHICAGO, IL (HYBRID)
A leading law firm is seeking a Construction Law Partner to join its growing Construction Law practice in Chicago. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility while working with a highly collaborative legal team. All candidate inquiries will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction litigation attorney with 10+ years of litigation experience, including at least 7 years focused on construction law matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling complex construction disputes and managing matters from inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage construction litigation matters from initial claim through trial, arbitration, or settlement
• Handle disputes involving project delays, scheduling issues, construction defects, design defects, and mechanic’s liens
• Advise general contractors, developers, and owners on construction-related disputes and risk management
• Collaborate with other partners and attorneys on complex construction litigation matters
• Communicate directly with clients and senior leadership to develop litigation strategy and provide legal guidance
• Assist with drafting and negotiating construction agreements, design agreements, and related contracts when needed
• 10+ years of litigation experience
• At least 7 years of substantial construction litigation experience
• Experience handling construction defect claims, delay claims, scheduling disputes, and mechanic’s liens
• Strong analytical, writing, and case management skills
• Ability to independently manage matters while collaborating effectively with a legal team
• Portable book of business is welcome but not required
This practice represents general contractors, owners, and developers in drafting and negotiating construction agreements, managing pre-claim disputes, and litigating construction claims in courts and arbitration forums throughout the United States. Compensation
Salary Range: $250,000 – $350,000, with additional compensation formula contingent on portable book of business.
