Legal Billing Specialist (Hybrid)

An established and respected law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join its accounting team. Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, edit, and process monthly client invoices.
- Review billing reports for accuracy prior to invoicing.
- Research billing rates, client-specific billing guidelines, discounts, and special billing arrangements.
- Process flat-fee billing in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare and distribute monthly reminder statements.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients regarding billing questions and account activity.
- Submit invoices through a variety of electronic billing (e-billing) platforms and monitor payment status.
- Prepare requests related to trust account (IOLTA) transactions.
- Reconcile client payments and outstanding account balances.
- Assist with special accounting projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of legal billing experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and the legal billing cycle.
- Experience with electronic billing platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with 3E billing software is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with attorneys and administrative staff.
