Our client, a well-established law firm in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced Corporate & Securities Attorney to join its business law practice. This opportunity is well suited for a senior associate, counsel, or junior partner looking to handle sophisticated transactional work with meaningful client exposure and long-term practice growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and complex strategic transactions
- Represent private equity sponsors, venture capital firms, and emerging growth companies
- Structure, draft, and negotiate private placements and venture financings
- Serve as outside general corporate counsel to middle-market and growth-stage companies
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents, governance agreements, and ancillary deal materials
- Manage transactions efficiently and support business development efforts
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active Illinois Bar admission
- 7+ years of corporate transactional experience
- Strong background in M&A, private equity, venture capital, and general corporate matters
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client-management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
