Family Law Paralegal
Salary: Up to $80,000, commensurate with experience
We are recruiting an experienced Family Law Paralegal on behalf of a highly regarded family law firm located in Chicago’s Loop. This is a mostly remote role; however, candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area, as occasional in-person meetings and court-related needs may arise.
This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level paralegal with deep experience supporting family law attorneys in complex and sensitive matters, including divorce, custody, support, and asset division.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, prepare, and revise family law pleadings, motions, judgments, and legal correspondence
- Prepare debt and asset lists, witness affidavits, child support worksheets, and responsive pleadings
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy and attorney decision-making
- Manage and maintain electronic and physical case files
- Coordinate calendars, court appearances, mediations, depositions, and client meetings
- Serve as a primary liaison between clients and attorneys, including conducting client interviews
- Prepare trial notebooks and assist with trial preparation and courtroom support
- Assist with discovery, including disclosure statements, interrogatories, responses, and document production
Qualifications
- 10+ years of paralegal experience with a strong concentration in family law
- Extensive experience drafting family law pleadings and supporting litigation matters
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and client sensitivity
