Our client, a premier mid-sized law firm located in Chicago, is seeking a versatile and high-energy Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support. Position Summary
As a Legal Assistant, you will be the primary administrative resource for attorneys within the Wealth Transfer and Litigation practice groups. The ideal candidate will balance the meticulous precision required for estate planning with the fast-paced, deadline-driven nature of commercial litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Dual-Practice Support: Provide seamless administrative assistance to attorneys.
- Wealth Transfer Administration: Assist in the preparation of sensitive estate planning documents, trust filings, and high-level client correspondence.
- Litigation Coordination: Manage e-filings, maintain case calendars, schedule depositions, and assist with document production and trial preparation.
- Document Mastery: Format, proofread, and redline complex legal documents with meticulous attention to detail and speed.
- Administrative Management: Handle billing, time entry, coordinate expenses, and manage other duties as they arise.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of legal administrative experience. Exposure to both transactional (Trusts & Estates) and Litigation environments is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office 365. Proficiency with document management systems (iManage) and legal billing software is essential.
- Interpersonal Style: An outgoing, “service-first” personality. You must be comfortable building rapport quickly with diverse personalities across the firm.
- Organizational Excellence: Proven ability to prioritize competing deadlines for multiple stakeholders while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Up to $85,000, commensurate with experience.
