Midlevel Energy Law Associate

Pay: $200,000.00$220,000.00

Our client, a well-established law firm based in downtown Chicago, is seeking a Junior to Midlevel Energy Law Associate to join its Energy Law practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with regulatory experience to work on sophisticated matters impacting Illinois and regional energy markets.

Key Responsibilities

The Energy Law Associate will support a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters, including:

  • Advising clients on energy regulatory compliance involving solar, energy storage, and retail electric and gas supply
  • Representing clients before state public utility commissions, with a strong preference for experience before the Illinois Commerce Commission
  • Assisting with regulatory litigation related to energy and utilities matters
  • Supporting energy-related transactions and regulatory strategy development

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of energy, utilities, or regulatory legal experience
  • At least 1 year of experience practicing before a state public utility commission
  • Familiarity with Illinois energy regulatory frameworks strongly preferred
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Active Illinois Bar admission required
