Family Law Paralegal (Temporary – 2 Month Assignment)
Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: Starting at $35/hour, commensurate with experience
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal for a 2-month temporary assignment with a highly regarded family law firm located in Chicago’s Loop.
This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level paralegal with significant experience supporting family law attorneys in complex and sensitive matters, including divorce, custody, support, and asset division, who can step in and contribute immediately.
Key Responsibilities

Draft, prepare, and revise family law pleadings, motions, judgments, and legal correspondence

Prepare debt and asset schedules, witness affidavits, child support calculations, and responsive pleadings

Conduct legal research to support case strategy and attorney decision-making

Manage and maintain electronic and physical case files

Coordinate calendars, court appearances, mediations, depositions, and client meetings

Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, including assisting with client communications and intake

Prepare trial notebooks and assist with trial preparation and courtroom support

Assist with discovery, including disclosures, interrogatories, responses, and document production
Qualifications

7+ years of paralegal experience with a strong focus in family law

Proven experience drafting family law pleadings and supporting litigation matters

Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment and quickly integrate into an active caseload

High level of professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when working with clients
