Construction Law Associate
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Salary Range: $215,000-$245,000
Scout Partners is conducting a confidential search for a Construction Law Associate to join the thriving construction practice of a highly regarded Chicago law firm.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience and a strong background in construction litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to deepen their construction law experience, receive sophisticated training, and assume a meaningful role in complex matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle construction litigation matters involving design and construction defects, project delays, mechanic’s liens, payment disputes, and related claims.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Participate in case strategy, dispute resolution, arbitration, and trial preparation.
- Work directly with experienced partners and clients on matters throughout the United States.
- Assist with pre-claim disputes, claim avoidance strategies, and resolution planning.
- Contribute to client development and practice growth.
Qualifications
- Four or more years of relevant legal experience.
- Substantive construction litigation experience.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong interest in building a long-term construction law practice.
- Construction transactional experience, or an interest in developing transactional skills, is a plus.
The firm’s construction group represents general contractors, owners, and developers in court proceedings and arbitrations nationwide. Associates receive direct access to senior attorneys, substantial responsibility, and hands-on training in matter management and strategy.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range is $215,000-$245,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
